Conversations are a great means for members to privately communicate with other members. However, if a member wants to send a simple message to one other member, conversations can then become cumbersome and time consuming, and depending on the settings more members may end up joining in. The quick message add-on does what it's title says: send a simple message to one recipient, quickly. Members can send a message to another member from any XenForo page, without leaving that page; hover over the recipients avatar, and press the Quick message button, or open your visitor panel, and select Quick message.

Features:
  • Supports the following bb codes: basic text formatting (bold, italic, etc), extended text formatting (color, font, size), links, and smilies.
  • Editor bb codes are permission based, if you do not want any bb codes used by a user group, set the permissions to no. See permissions below for the defaults on installation.
  • The number of printable characters, and the number of lines a message can have is permission based.
  • A receiver of a quick message can report the message if they feel it is warranted. Reporting is permission based.
  • Those with the view ip addresses (general moderator permission), can view ip's of messages they receive.
  • Those with the view message read date permission can see when the message they sent to a member has been read.
  • Unread quick messages are defaulted to be deleted after 3 days. This can be adjusted in the options. Read quick messages are defaulted to be deleted after 1 day (adjusted in options).
  • Replied to quick messages, are treated as a new message. Replies are tagged as sent as a reply. See screen shot.
  • Quick messages can be initiated from a members profile page, from the members overlay when hovering over their avatar, or from your visitor panel.
  • Respects members privacy setting (Send quick messages to you: members only, people you follow, or nobody).
  • From your account visitor menu you can view your recently received messages and recently sent messages (select the Quick message link to open the overlay).
